Yes, let’s take a deeper dive into the costs and rewards of a college education.
Many states require teachers to have a degree. Good idea! However, the question is why aren’t our children learning? Yes, many students do not learn much in school. I believe that the problem lies in the quality of teachers. Many college degree teachers don’t even know how to teach. Neither students nor their instructors are learning much in their respective schools. Colleges are now institutions of indoctrination.
Colleges are constantly increasing the cost for attending and getting that so-called lambskin. So many students, and I speak from experience, do not learn any skills needed to work out in the real world. When I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree and went out to look for a job I was told to go get some experience. Without experience, all the doors were closed. Question: How do you get experience without someone mentoring and teaching you?
A degree from any university or college does not guarantee you anything
Many students spend more time partying than studying. It is only when we realize we are about to fail, do we start to buckle down and study. Usually, it is too late for that. You can bring up your GPA, but not by much. I went from a 1.9 gpa to a 2.7 gpa for my Bachelor’s degree. When I got my Master’s degree I graduated with Distinction and had a gpa above 3.95. I owed over 10K dollars in student debt and could not get a promotion; even though my employer paid for half of my education! I did it all online while working full-time.
The key point is although many people have college degrees, their illiteracy is great and so is the ignorance of daily life; what it takes to survive in today’s world. I cringe many times when I read comments on social media sites as the spelling and grammar is atrocious.
Today’s college classes get flimsier and more full of fluff or hatred; take your pick. More students are failing, but yet nobody fails.
Tax payer dollars are sent to these institutions which you and I are funding! The Question is Why? What has your child learned other than to hate this country and work to destroy it from within!!!
